If you play Space Pioneer for long enough, those mobile bones float to the surface. And you totally could! The challenges, upgrades, and achievements all gel together to gin up a truly addictive gameplay loop. If you want to play this game for hours on end, there’s nothing stopping you. Now you’re no longer being hampered by stamina or microtransactions. On the other hand, there’s tangible benefits to bringing a mobile game to the Switch. Longer sessions let the cracks in the facade get a little sunlight, you see. This is a game meant to be played in short bursts. Who cares if the missions, challenges, and level designs all start to repeat themselves?Īll of these little grievances are rooted in Space Pioneer’s mobile origins. Everything is fun, frantic, and pretty fast-paced. The gameplay itself is fun enough that you mostly don’t mind all the repetition. Finally, you’ll be tasked with defending a given objective from waves of attackers. Or you have to occupy a given space until enough time passes you by. Most of the time, you’re just killing people with a particular gun a certain number of times. The difficulty level ramps up nicely, but this comes at the cost of inventiveness. In both cases, you’ll see all the game has to offer pretty fast. The engine had its first hot-fire test in December 2020, with a 50-second duration ground test run.Every planet has missions and challenges to complete. It is intended to be the main engine for the Tianlong-1 launch vehicle. Tianhuo-3 (TH-3) is a keroxox liquid-bipropellant rocket engine with 30 tonnes-force (66,000 lbf) of thrust. Tianhuo-2 (TH-2) was developed subsequent to Tianhuo-1, with the first hot fire test of the engine was in early 2020. Tianhuo-1 (TH-1) was the initial Space Pioneer rocket engine, with hot-fire ground testing completed before 2020. Tianlong-1 is a kerosene- liquid oxygen ( kerolox) fueled vehicle using the Tianhuo-3 engine, with a payload capacity to low Earth orbit exceeding 3 tonnes (6,600 lb). Both launch vehicles and liquid rocket engines are being designed for reuse. Space Pioneer is developing reusable spaceflight technology rather than the traditional expendable rocket technology developed by the national governments of every spacefaring nation prior to the 2010s, including China. The funds will be used to complete initial development of the Tianlong-1 reusable launch vehicle, a kerolox-propellant vehicle with a payload capacity to orbit exceeding 3 tonnes (6,600 lb), during 2021–22. The company secured US$30 million venture capital funding in a pre-B funding round in July 2021. This was followed in September with a "multiple hundreds of millions of yuan" ( ¥millions RMB) Series A capital raise. In April 2020, the company raised US$14 million in order to complete development of its 30 tf (66,000 lbf) liquid rocket engine Tianhuo-3, which had begun igniter hot fire tests in 2019. The company completed two funding rounds in 2019, including a ZJU Joint Innovation investment, to continue liquid bipropellant engine development of the Tianhou series of rocket engines. ![]() Space Pioneer was founded in 2015 by Kang Yonglai
